Information We Collect
Analytics Data
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site. Google Analytics collects data such as pages visited, time on site, general geographic region, browser type, and referring source. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to track sessions. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Comments
If you leave a comment on the site, we collect the name, email address, and any other information you choose to include. Your email address is used only to notify you of replies and is never published publicly or shared with third parties. Comments are stored in our WordPress database.
Email Subscriptions
If you subscribe to email updates from Plumelore, we collect your email address. That address is stored with our email service provider and used only to send content you requested. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link included in every email.
Affiliate Cookies
When you click an affiliate link on Plumelore, the destination retailer (including Amazon, Chewy, and Duncraft) may set cookies in your browser. Those cookies are governed by each retailer’s own privacy policy, not this one. We do not have access to or control over those cookies.
How We Use Information
Analytics data is used to understand which content is useful, identify technical problems, and improve the site. Comment data is used to display comments and send reply notifications. Email addresses collected through subscriptions are used only to send the content you signed up for. We do not sell, rent, or trade any personal information to third parties.
Third-Party Services
Plumelore uses the following third-party services that may process data about your visit:
- Google Analytics: website analytics. Google Privacy Policy.
- Amazon Associates: affiliate program. Clicking Amazon links may set Amazon cookies. Amazon Privacy Notice.
- Chewy: affiliate program. Chewy Privacy Policy.
- Duncraft: affiliate program. See Duncraft’s privacy policy on their website.
- WordPress.com / Automattic: if you leave a comment, Automattic’s Akismet service may process it for spam detection. Automattic Privacy Policy.
Cookies
Plumelore uses cookies for two purposes: site analytics (via Google Analytics) and basic WordPress functionality (session cookies for logged-in users and commenters). You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Doing so will not prevent you from reading content on the site, but some features such as comment submission may not work correctly.
Data Retention
Comment data is retained indefinitely unless you request deletion. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics default retention settings (26 months). Email subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe.
Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you. To make a request, email us at hello@plumelore.com. We will respond within 30 days. Note that analytics data collected by Google Analytics is not directly accessible to us in a form tied to individual identity, so deletion requests for analytics data must be directed to Google.
Children’s Privacy
Plumelore is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to this site, contact us at hello@plumelore.com and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, the “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change. Continued use of the site after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
